Privacy Policy
Effective April 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Hops handles personal information when you use our website and services. We keep it short on purpose: collect what we need, use it for what you expect, and never sell it.
1. Who we are
Hops ("we", "us", "our") operates the Hops hiring network at this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Contact us any time at mohammedimran86992@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to run the service.
- Account information. Name, email address, and profile image provided when you sign up — directly, or through a single sign-on provider such as Google or WorkOS.
- Profile content. Information you add to your Hops profile or job postings (role history, education, city, photos, pay, shift timing).
- Usage data. Pages viewed, actions taken, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP, collected through standard server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
- Communications. Messages you send us by email or through in-app forms.
3. Google user data
If you sign in with Google, we access a limited set of account information through Google OAuth — specifically your name, email address, profile picture, and a unique Google account identifier. We use this information solely to:
- Create and authenticate your Hops account.
- Pre-fill your profile with your name and avatar.
- Contact you about your account and the service.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except the sub-processors listed below. Hops's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You may revoke Hops's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
4. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- Match employers with talent and show relevant listings.
- Send transactional email about your account, applications, and postings.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Hops, and only as needed. Our sub-processors include:
- WorkOS — authentication.
- Convex — application database and backend.
- Sentry — error monitoring.
- Google — OAuth sign-in, when you choose it.
We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hops, our users, or the public. We do not sell personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your rights
You can access, update, or delete your information from your account settings at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or object to processing. Email mohammedimran86992@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and audit logging — to protect your information. No internet service is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.
9. Children
Hops is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email mohammedimran86992@gmail.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the effective date. Continued use of Hops after the change means you accept the revised policy.
