Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Hops. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Hops.

1. The service

Hops is a hospitality hiring network that connects employers (restaurants, hotels, and hostels) with talent (kitchen, housekeeping, front-of-house, and related roles). We provide the platform — the hiring decisions, employment relationships, and shift arrangements are between the parties themselves.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use most features. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum working age in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the job postings, portfolio content, messages, and other material you submit to Hops. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. You represent that you have the rights to post any content you submit and that it does not violate any third-party rights or laws.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings or profiles.
  • Discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic in postings or hiring decisions.
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the service without written permission.
  • Attempt to bypass security controls, rate limits, or authentication.
  • Use Hops to send spam, malware, or unsolicited messages.
  • Impersonate any person or business.

5. Paid features

Some features, including employer talent search, may require a paid subscription. Fees, billing cycles, and cancellation terms are disclosed before purchase. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated. We may change prices with reasonable notice.

6. Termination

You may close your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or create risk for Hops or other users. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, indemnity, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.

7. Third-party services

Hops integrates with third parties — WorkOS and Google for sign-in, Convex for data, Sentry for error monitoring. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services.

8. Disclaimer

Hops is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing, applicant, or employer is accurate or suitable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hops will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 10,000.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Hops harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

11. Changes to the service or Terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will post the updated Terms and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in India, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
